Fine Wine - Vintage 2000 Bordeaux Grand Cru Classe

2 CANCELLATION PLACES AVAILABLE Bordeaux is the most recognised wine region in the world commanding the world's highest prices at the top-end. These highest-quality wines are often sold and re-sold as investment stock and rarely enjoyed as they should be. It is from the Left-Bank, named so as it is the area lying to the left of the Gironde River, that hosts some of the finest Chateaux in villages such as Pauillac, Margaux, Saint-Estephe and Saint-Julien. This is where the Cabernet Sauvignon grape is king found as the predominate grape variety in the red blends of the area. This is one the greatest grape varieties in the world for 'laying-down' improving with age. Usually a minimum of 10 years from the great estates is needed hence why we are hosting a 2000 tasting - these wines are just opening up for our enjoyment!

You will taste 6 examples from the highly acclaimed 2000 vintage rated as a 'great vintage' by Clive Coates MW and classifying it as one of the best vintages in the past 20 years. All wines are 2nd Growths (1855 Classification). The epitomy of Bordeaux Left-Bank wines are classified from 1st Growth to 5th Growth known simply on the label as the Grand Cru Classes.
