Discover Spain: North-East, East & Central

Join a tasting to discover the delights are found on the eastern coast & the central regions of Spain. So much emphasis is given to Rioja in the UK, however regions such as Penedes, Valencia and Costers del Segre are now supplying us with fascinating wines that are high quality but also mainly affordable.

The tasting will start by discovering Cava the traditional-method sparkling wines that are produced in the limestone mountains and hills around the beautiful city of Barcelona. Penedes produces a whole host of intriguing varieties whilst the regions of Alicante and Valencia offer affordable styles from Tempranillo and Monastrell (Mourvedre in France). The tasting will also look at the emerging experimental zones of Somontano and Costers del Segre before finishing on the grand finale of Priorat (£20+), the rustic blockbuster red mainly made from Carinea (Carignan).

A great tasting to discover that there's more to Spanish wine than Rioja.

All tastings include; minimum of 6 wines sourced locally so you can find them easily if you like them, full tasting notes, tasting sheet, use of professional tastings glasses and nibbles
