Corporate & Private Tastings
The West London Wine School also runs professionally organised wine events tailored to meet the demands of business and private clients.
"May I say a big ‘thank you’ from all our team for the wine tasting last night which was fabulous and we all thoroughly enjoyed the tasting and had a great time, so thank you so much for a very informative and entertaining evening" (Dawn Prankard, Pepsico, France Versus New World Tasting, Sept 2011)
"I really enjoyed the experience. The evening was presented in a relaxed but informative style, and the hosts were able to answer any questions that were raised. It was a great ‘fun evening’ and a splendid way of learning about wines as well as getting to know my work colleagues. The wine tasting quiz was an awesome way to structure the evening and just added the right element of good-hearted competition. Thank you and I look forward to the next event." (Helen Cole, Pricoa, Whose Wine Is It Anyway, June 2011)
"Thank you for such a great evening wine tasting last night. The evening delivered way beyond our expectations and your passion and knowledge for wine really shone through. We thoroughly enjoyed trying new varietals in a great atmosphere - thanks again for such a good relaxed and informative time - its a very difficult balance to strike! You and your wine school will be highly recommended." (Henri & Richard Stuart-Reckling, Private event, September 2010)
Corporate Clients
We run corporate events for companies, both large and small anywhere in the UK. Our packages can be tailored to meet a wide variety of client requirements and to suit most budgets. Companies have used us for diverse events, such as:
- Client Entertainment

- Staff Team Reward/Entertainment
- Business Seminars/Conferences (usually prior to dinner!)
The venue can be selected by us (such as our Wine Cellars), or the event can be organised at the clients premises/offices. The event can take many formats, from fun and informal with quiz/team element, to a tutored tasting with a wide variety of wines. All equipment, glasses, wine, notes etc are supplied. We have organised & hosted wine-tasting events for companies such as Billington Cartmell, Charlemagne Wine Club and Steam UK.
We also host fund-raising wine tastings for many local & national charitable organisations. Our format for the evening can be tailor made but normally includes the following -
- Hire/cleaning of professional ISO tasting glasses
- Chilling equipment for optimal serving of white wines
- Approx 6-8 different high-quality wines
- Professional tasting notes /quiz sheets on each wine
- Digital projection equipment with DVDs/Maps/Slides
- A fun quiz/team format tutored tasting
- A special 'Whose Wine Is It Anyway' competitive wine game (most popular format)
- Nez du Vin Aroma - sets of wine-related scents (fun!)
All our wine events are highly interactive in nature, and are produced and structured for all levels of knowledge and interest in wine. Our proven & successful format involves a fun, team-based wine quiz based on a blind-tasting game with lots of carefully-picked clues which allow novices as much chance of winning as seasoned wine drinkers. All our wine tastings include our aroma phial kits. These sets of wine-related aromas provide fantastic entertainment, and are a uniquely inventive way of developing the guests' sensory skills. Each Corporate event includes a rapid introductory session on how to taste wine – explained in a no-nonsense practical approach.

In the team quiz your wine host will present a series of wines to deduce the identity of. There can be many themes to the evening, all of which provide a focus for the guests and ample opportunity to collaborate and interact. Past themes have included French vs New World, Australia vs America, old wine or young wine, Italy vs Spain etc. For each wine the guests will receive helpful and objective coaching from the wine host enabling them to have a good chance at guessing the wine.
'Whose Wine Is It Anyway' wine game
Our most successful and enjoyable format is the 'Whose Wine Is It Anyway' wine game where a wine is presented by three different panelists in three differing descriptions and the teams must decide who is telling the truth and who is bluffing. It runs on the same rules as the TV series Call My Bluff and is highly interactive, engaging and fun. If you're considering holding a Conference, Meeting or Team Celebration why not enhance the experience with a wine tasting event from the West London Wine School. We can tailor our corporate package to meet your conference needs.
"It was great fun and I really enjoyed the evening and learned some interesting new facts! The wine was delicious. Will definitely recommend the course to my friends and may even give it to a friend for a birthday!" (Katalin Thomann, Pricoa Whose Wine Is It Anyway Event, June 2011)
Private Clients
We can also arrange private tastings at a selected venue, or in your own home if you wish. We usually advise a minimum party size of 10-12 for cost reasons. We can offer advice on themes and wines if you wish, or source wines to suit your own preference. The tasting usually runs for 1.5 to 2 hours, but can be tailored to suit your requirements. Prices vary depending upon location, numbers and of course the type of wine. Prices start from as little as £15 per head.
Please contact us or call Jimmy Smith on 07890 339843 who will be happy to discuss formats, themes, dates, locations, numbers, budgets etc
